Teaching Philosophy

"Education is not the filling of a pail, but the lighting of a fire."
— William Butler Yeats
I believe that learning is most meaningful when it is collaborative, student-centered, and agile.

In my teaching—whether in international HRM, international management, entrepreneurship, or qualitative research methodologies—I help students examine research within its broader societal and cultural context. I encourage them to explore how ideas, organisations, institutions, and practices both reflect and shape power dynamics and social ideologies.

In my classroom, I strive to create an environment where diverse voices are heard, curiosity is nurtured, and students feel empowered to engage critically with ideas and texts. I design courses and assignments that connect to students’ lived experiences, fostering agency and encouraging them to explore the relevance of their studies beyond the classroom.
My goal is to inspire critical thinking, engagement with diverse perspectives, and an understanding of how language and culture can serve as tools for social change and personal development. Through discussion, case analysis, and reflective exercises, I guide students in connecting theory to practice and developing skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
Alongside my professional practice, my lifelong learning journey—from apprenticeship to DBA—shaped a strong commitment to academic teaching and learning. I am particularly interested in bridging theory and practice through collaborative learning, qualitative research, and reflective inquiry.

Guided by my core values—curiosity, creativity, and courage—I enjoy co-creating solutions that connect academic insight with real-world organisational challenges. I welcome opportunities to collaborate, teach, or co-advise research projects at Master’s, Executive MBA, or DBA level.
